AMAs 2006

The American Music Awards were held earlier this morning (for North America, it was the evening of November 21st) and I was happy that atleast one of my favs won an award - Nickelback's All The Right Reasons for best pop/rock album. Furthermore, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers (a staple in every Indian kitchen, no doubt) won two awards for favourite pop/rock group & favourite alternative band (although the Americans spell it 'favorite'). I could have switched the tv off after knowing these results. Still I watched some of the show before I had to get ready for work.

The night's big winners were shitty rap band, the Black Eyed Peas or three guys and a woman with a big hump! Go get some talent you worthless shitheads. Mary J Blige and her annoying songs were there. Beyonce proved once again that she missed her calling as a slut. Britney was there, soon to be single mother of two and divorced from her 'what-was-I-smoking' marriage to a guy who is less charismatic than a pimple! Oh, the host made fun of Kevin Federline (like K-Fed isn't doing enough of it by appearing in the WWE and singing)....and the very next moment, out comes Britney to present something! Oh talk about fickle, a few weeks ago she was banging that talentless wop, now she joins in the fun to mock him! Not that I feel sorry for that Vanilla Ice wanna-be!

Jamie Foxx - I don't like him at all. I don't think he is great as an actor and he sucks at singing. Just wtf is it with actors who portray a singer in a movie and then immediately starts releasing albums in real life! We have to bear J Lo; and she is horrible. Now Jamie Foxx! And he won an award....please!!

Nelly Furtado got divorced, got all sexy, got idiots backing her up, got all rnb & dance stuff and shit and now sells even more. She performed a good enough song but she had this nutjob making stupid noises into his mic and a guitar player who would not have seemed out of place in Milli Vanilli. She used to be kinda unique with her folksy stuff. Now she is....Promiscous! I don't share the fanfare now.

Carrie Underwood performed in a dress that said 'I don't know, it was picked up for me to be noticed' and did I see her almost stumble at the end of her song? Faith Hill & hubby Tim McGraw won (so what's new, American country is so predictable). But the Rascal Flatts won and they seem like an ok band. I should try to download a few of their songs. The Pussycat Dolls belong in a strip club and sing songs that all sound the same. Barry Manilow performed and so did Lionel Richie! I think I was looking forward to them the most. That is how boring the whole show was!!! End review.
